Active chats not opening

I suddenly find myself unable to open my active chats in the Chats tab—tapping on the active chats simply does nothing. I tried clearing the app cache and uninstalling + reinstalling but the issue still remains. I can only access my active chats via a profile itself or chat reply notifications.
